Methodology
• Starting in August 2011, a survey was delivered to the office of
each active, formally announced candidate via e-mail, web mail, and/or
facsimile, and also via certified U.S. mail for which a campaign
employee signed a receipt confirming the delivery. Each candidate’s
survey showed his or her latest stand on each LGBT issue, based on
speeches made, documents signed, and interviews given. All candidates
were invited to notify MEUSA of updates to their positions as they
occur, up through election day on 6 November 2012.

Democrat Jared Polis becomes first gay Member of Congress to become a parent
| (D) Jared Polis |
It's great to see news like this make the internet and hopefully, the media. This article comes to us from PinkPaper.com, the British blog of worldwide news related to politics and gay issues (sign up for their newsletter for lots of current information.)
It is also great to see that a member of the US Congress, openly gay, has become the proud parent of son
Caspian Julius, who was born on September 30th. What a fantastic event for Congressman Polis and his partner Caspian Reis. The birth and announcement is also a step forward in the fight for equal rights in a country that has so much going wrong at the moment. We wish a wonderful life for the Congressman, his partner, and especially Caspian.
Fellow Democrats Barney Frank, David Cicilline and Tammy Baldwin are the other three openly-gay lawmakers in the House of
Representatives.
PS: In a related article from GayAgenda a little sarcasm worth the read.

No Home In North Carolina: LGBT Group Warns "We Will No Longer Accept Hate Crimes at Ballot Box" :: EDGE New England
With the upcoming DNC Convention set to be held in N. Carolina, the recent legislation by the GOP to legislate hatred and bigotry in that state has raised the ire (finally) of GetEQUAL and other LGBT groups to begin taking action.
Obama needs to get off the fence and stand behind his previous position on same-sex marriage, and the GOP needs to hear from EVERY person who supports equal rights in the this country.
Apathy is a dead issue (nor an option), just like the gay community will be if the GOP has any say in the matter. Get involved, support LGBT Equal rights groups in your state, and let your senators know that this agenda of hate and bigotry will not be tolerated any longer. The time is now to stand up and be counted. After the lines are drawn it's too late to complain.

President Obama To Put Medicare/Medicaid on Chopping Block in Big Speech
Urgent!
The White House announced that in a big speech Wednesday, April 13th ,
President Obama will do what no Republican President has been able to
do: Put Medicare and Medicaid on the table for potential cuts.
Many former Obama volunteers, donors, and voters are deeply disappointed.
A Democratic Congressman said on MSNBC last night that Obama needs to "act like a Democrat."
Will you sign this urgent pledge, which we'll deliver to the Obama campaign?
"President Obama: If you cut Medicare and
Medicaid benefits for me, my parents, my grandparents, or families like mine, don't ask for a penny
of my money or an hour of my time in 2012. I'm going to focus on
electing bold progressive candidates -- not Democrats who help
Republicans make harmful cuts." Click here to sign.
