You might think that these so-called Moral Leaders (i.e. the Catholic Church), that in the history of our civilization have probably murdered more people for not conforming to their religion, would have a little more compassion. Apparently the bigotry still reigns in this church with its long history of pedophilia, murder and corruption.

This is not to slam those who truly believe in and practice Catholocism, but an overall view of the history of the Catholic Church. 

Just where do we get our "moral compass" from? Hate...bullying...politicians...and people like this priest  (who paid for an ad to say this, which was pulled from publication by the paper)? I think it's up to each individual to understand and believe in what they desire. No person or organization, such as the tax supported Catholic Church, has the right to push their rules and policies on everyone as this priest has habitually done. But, after all, the same rights afforded by the Constitution that allowed this "moral leader" to publish this article also allow me to say what I've said here. That's the great thing about our country, as long as we let our Constitution function as written.

Correcting the "All homosexuals are pedophiles" issue

From the blog Wakingupnow written by Rob Tisiani, this very excellent, logical and rational video clearly shows how anti-gay people create false "facts" that mislead the general public away from the real facts and push their so-called moral values on an apathetic, generally gullible public.

Rob does an excellent job in showing that the real issue is not that homosexuals commit pedophilia, but statistically, it's family members, heterosexual men (and women), and other family friends that commit the most sexual crimes against children.

Of course, those that have entrenched themselves in hate and anti-gay mis-information don't care to hear the real facts...they are spending too much time covering up their own hidden skeletons.

Here we are again! I don't follow how the Bishop in NY, who was so adamant about fighting the legislation allowing gay marriage, could use the "moral compass"of the RC church while one of Florida's most powerful Catholic leaders is being accused of running the Miami Archdiocese like a gay sexual mafia boss.

Like most religious factions who are opposed to gay rights, the hypocrisy of their argument against the rights of gays to marry  never is brought up in their soap-box speeches.

Gawker reports that a group of Catholics from South Florida calling their organization Christifidelis had launched a major investigation into the activities of Archbishop Emeritus John C. Favalora. In a report from Christifidelis called "Miami Vice," the group found that Favalora was part owner of a company that manufactured an aphrodisiac drink and took trips to Key West with "gay associates."
