Is the use of the word "Gay" demeaning" Take our Poll

In a previous blog I wrote about actor Vince Vaughn's use of the word gay and the ensuing comments he received as well as the interview on Anderson Cooper 360. It does raise a question of when is the use of a particular word right or wrong. Here is part of that previous blog:

"Hollywood actor Vince Vaughn has defended the controversial use of the word gay in his latest film, The Dilemma. Directed by Oscar-winner Ron Howard, the offending scene – which has now been edited from online versions of the trailer – sees Vaughn in a boardroom delivering a presentation about electric cars. He tells his colleagues: “Electric cars are gay. I mean, not homosexual gay, but my-parents-are-chaperoning-the-dance gay.” CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper first raised the issue on his TV show, Anderson Cooper 360°, after viewing a trailer for the movie..."
